Every once in a while, something stops me in my tracks and I end up becoming totally fixated with it, until its mine.
It began with a cuddly monkey (called Lucy) — that had a yellow dummy in it’s mouth and a rose sprinkled bonnet and nappy — when I was around 8 years old.
Then a super-soft and snuggly faux-fur duffle coat, with a GINORMOUS hood, when I went off to university.
A pair of wooden Prada wedges from New York (still getting lots of wear after many years).
Cushions (there have been a LOT of these).
Numerous pairs of gorgeous sunglasses (generally spotted in The Sunglasses Hut in various airports — I’m a sitting duck in that kind of situation — no escape from this one).
Anyway. You get the picture.
I must say, it doesn’t happen that frequently but when it does it’s like a lightening bolt. I have my head totally and utterly turned and am totally intoxicated.
It happened again this week and I just thought I’d share. They say a problem shared is a problem halved, don’t they? My shopping addiction is definitely a problem if you ask my husband ;)
Anyway. I was browsing the Anthropologie website and came across the most beautiful painted crockery.

The most gorgeous Watercolour crockery
A thing of beauty, I think you’ll agree.
The watercolour trend is huge this summer.
I first spotted it at the Matalan Spring/Summer 16 show last year. Gorgeous watercolour paintings had made their way onto duvet covers and cushions and it was such a lovely change from graphic or geometric prints.
Lovely to see crockery getting the same treatment.
I can imagine a summer lunch table, set out with a white tablecloth, dotted with all these pretties.
We have our annual summer family barbecue happening this year and I’m just debating whether I can manage without at least one of those lovely plates.
One? ;)

Oh, now they are pretty! Surely one would be ok, wouldn’t it? #HomeEtc
I’m sure I can DEFINITELY fit one into my cupboard ;)
A browse on the Anthropologie site is lethal! The watercolour crockery is very pretty (and I think you have talked yourself into getting some for your summer barbecue!) x
It’s SO LETHAL!!!! Particularly as they have a perpetual sale!!! I always find things to buy on there — good job too as their proper prices are way out of my price range!!
Oh so beautiful! I am such a magpie – forever falling in love with a new thing!
Me too!! Anything bright and colourful always catches my eye!! :)
Yeah you can get at least one can’t you…!! They are beautiful, lovely to see a beautiful art being brought back into the market and within the home.
I totally agree — they’re like mini works of art aren’t they? So lovely :)
I love watercolour designs/prints, so pretty! I don’t think I could bear not to have the full set though, I couldn’t be trusted to stop at just one :) #HomeEtc
Haha!! I know what you mean!!! I don’t think I could stop at just one either!! ;)
Oh that is beautiful crockery, such a pretty and artsy style. I love geometric prints but agree this is a really nice change. Maybe just one for the sausages?!! #HomeEtc
They’re lovely aren’t they?! And YES!! I think I could get away with one for the sausages!! ;)
Nope, you really need more that one, otherwise that one plate will be lonely ;-) I love them, really stunning #HomeEtc
Aaah that’s SUCH a good point!!! And three always looks better than two, so I may have to buy another :)
Caro it is gorgeous, I am terrible with china too I love new and quirky things and pretty colours. I have just got a new pastel dinner set and I am totally in love with it x
Isn’t it fab?????!!! Ohmyword — I can’t stop thinking about the plates — and that sweet little jug!!! ;)
