Room For a Little One Campaign with Silentnight

Disclosure: This is an unpaid collaboration. I was given two sets of children’s bedding for the Room For a Little One Campaign with Silentnight.

Now, the boys’ room hasn’t really changed a great deal since they were born.

I shared a little nursery tour last year. And apart from a couple of new bits and pieces, things are looking pretty much the same.

A couple of years ago, I’d spotted the most lovely childrens’ bedding sets from a company called Cologne and Cotton. Grassy green and gorgeous cobalt blue, with graphic trains on the one set and quirky illustrated vehicles on the other.

I loved them because they perfectly matched the book cover prints I made when the twins were born.

So these are what I chose to give their bedroom a little facelift.

Making Changes

Whilst we were thinking about making changes; I thought it was also the perfect time to get their star book ledges from Great Little Trading Co up on the wall.

We are so proud to be part of the GLTC family this year and are on the testing team for 2016. The star shelves are the first thing we’ve chosen to roadtest.

Now, I’m not sure about anyone else’s kids but my two seem to collect a wealth of paraphernalia. In — and around — their beds.

Very often we’ll go in to check them at night, to find them surrounded by books and toys. With a sippy cup precariously balanced on the back edge of the cot.

I’d thought how nice it would be to give them a place for all these treasures; a dedicated space for the drinks cup. Plus room for all the essential reading material that a little boy may need when he wakes up.

These little shelves are perfect.

The Star Shelves From GLTC

Just the right size to fit above the headboard of a cot and shallow enough that my tiny boys won’t bang their head’s, if they stand up a little too quickly in the middle of the night!

They’re a great addition to the twins’ room — a bargain at just £23 and beautifully made too; really lovely and chunky.

I can imagine that the star shelves would  look fantastic hung in a group.

Perhaps with framed artwork standing up in them.

But for my littles just one little shelf, hung above each cot; offers the perfect solution to a good night’s sleep.

No more rolling over onto a pile of books or being rudely awaken by a sippy cup landing on their heads in the middle of the night.

With their lovely new bedding and clever little shelves, my little men are sure to sleep soundly.

  1. I love those sets, the colours are really bright and stand out. I love getting ‘same but different’ for my twin girls, as it sums them up perfectly!!
