I suddenly realised the other day that — although I post every day on The Listed Home Instagram account — I don’t often share those images and updates over here on the blog.
And, let’s face it, if Instagram ever disappears in a puff of smoke ( anyone remember My Space?) it would be nice to have a record of things.
So, with that in mind, I’ve decided that I’m going to keep a weekly log of my Instagram posts; here on the blog.

A Week in The Listed Home
So here we go. A full round up of posts from over on The Listed Home over on Instagram!
They’re written in a very different way to a blog post; more chatty and punctuated with emojis, which I’ve decided to keep on here.
As they’re stand-alone posts over there, they may not make too much sense. But it will be a fun exercise, and nice to look back on in the future.
I’m going to post every Friday — and include the post from the previous Friday.
Staring with last week.
Friday 19th March 2021
A throwback to last summer when the air was warm and we had colour in the garden ?
I wish spring would hurry up. Our garden is currently brown.
And I’m fed up of wearing jumpers and boots too.
But on a positive note it’s Friday!! ??????
What fun things have you got in store this weekend? ?
‘Operation piano’ is going to be underway tomorrow… unless I bottle it and chicken out. I’ll share any progress on stories ?
Saturday 20th March 2021
Saturday.
No rush.
I’m sat up in bed, drinking a cuppa and a scrolling through Right Move, looking at houses I’ll never be able to afford*.
*Unless I won the Euromillions last night – must check my ticket ?
After last weekend’s craziness of two little boys turning 8 — and Mother’s Day — this weekend feels like a blank sheet of paper.
I think I might tackle the piano. I’ve bought the paint and just need to take a deep breath and get on with it. Feeling a bit nervous about it, it must be said. Gut feeling says that it will be worth it though ?
Here’s a totally unrelated pic of my Mother’s Day flowers, happy Saturday phone friends ?
Sunday 21st March 2021
I meant to share this yesterday but with all the excitement of having a free day (and the prospect of ‘operation piano’) I totally forgot! ?
I made an Easter garland on Friday and got my faff on in the boot room.
Granted, this was just for the purposes of my blog… I must admit that the bootility does not always look so pretty ?
I made a little bunny file (that’s free to download); if you have a Cricut machine it’s really simple to cut and use, but also — if you don’t — equally simple to cut out by hand, with scissors or a craft knife ?
And if you’re really clever, you can even make it out of felt or fabric ?
I am not. Hence the card one ?
But anyway. Back to today.
The piano transformation is going better than expected. I’m really excited to finish it off and share it on my squares.
In fact, I’d say it’s gone so well, I’m cross with myself that I waited so long!
Mr D’s got his first jab today so we’re all a bit giddy ?????? Who’d have thought that we’d be getting excited about getting a needle in the arm eh?
Monday 22nd March 2021
Morning team ?
I’m feeling ready for a new week after quite a productive weekend.
‘Operation piano’ has been a resounding success so far. I’ve got a bit of finishing off to do but I’m so chuffed with how it’s looking ??????
And also – hands up who watched #lineofduty last night?!? WAAAAH! I had absolutely NO IDEA who was who – or what they were talking about half the time – but I bloody loved it.
Hurray for great Sunday night telly!! ??????
Hurray also for my posh new mug from @anthropologieeu that the ‘twins bought’ me for Mother’s Day ?
My last one mysteriously broke — cue mumblings of:
‘it wasn’t me mummy ?’
‘OR me mummy ?’
Must have a poltergeist ?
Let’s hope this new one doesn’t befall the same fate ?
Tuesday 23rd March 2021
A little piano update.
It’s not finished but phase one is complete!! ??????
I know painting a piano is a divisive subject but we’re we’re so thrilled with how it’s looking ?
Instead of absorbing all the light in that corner of the room, it’s lightened up the whole area.
And instead of clashing with the beams and door, its sits happily next to them. Each letting the other shine ✨
I’ve used Farrow and Ball Ammonite; which is also on the stair panelling and built in wardrobes in our dressing area. I love seeing the same colour repeated throughout the house; it’s gentle on the eye and gives a lovely continuity.
I’m so pleased with it ⭐️ Just need to learn how to play like Nina Simone now and we’ll be well away.
Wednesday 24th March 2021
Mr D and I realised yesterday that there’s only two more days before the kids break up from school for the two week Easter holiday.
Whaat?!? ?
Surely they’ve only just gone back?!? ?
We’ve literally just got into our working groove again, after such a long period of trying to juggle all the balls, whilst spinning all the plates ??♀️
But hey. This year has taught us that we’re nothing if not adaptable! ?
And also taught us that we’re pretty good at being locked up together ? ?
What’s another two weeks eh?
Thursday 25th March 2021
I had a few lovely comments about ‘the blooming onion’ gracing the grid yesterday -albeit a tiny glimpse ?
So I figured it deserved its own square.
Here it is! In all it’s oniony goodness ?
Happy Thursday everyone!

What is the color of your kitchen cabinets please! The green color is perfect. Been looking at color samples and this is what I like. Thank you!
Hi Janet, the colour was custom mixed to a wallpaper swatch I found! I couldn’t find exactly the right colour so I had it mixed :)
Hi. Where are your kitchen tiles from please and do you know what size they are? Thanks!
Hello! They were from Mandarin Stone. I don’t know the dimensions, but I’m sure it will be listed on their website :)
Can I ask the brand of your kitchen runner or where you sourced it from?
Hello — it was a vintage hand me down! No label on it, unfortunately :)
