Pink.
Hot, candy, baby, blush, soft — whichever tone floats your boat — there’s sure to be the perfect shade for you!
In this instance, the pick from colour gurus ‘Pantone’, for spring 2015 is Strawberry Ice. As it’s name suggests, it’s the colour of fresh strawberry gelato — a vivid, mid-pink colour — with quite a lot of yellow in the mix to give a lovely warm, almost coral, tone.
Now, I like pink. But in the home?
I am a mama of boys — I live in a house with three boys — and pink is not something that features heavily in our house! I often have a flash of pink, through using fresh flowers, but I don’t have any pink accessories or homeware.
So I wondered, if I was to choose some pieces, what room would they be for?
With this is mind, the picks I’ve chosen this week are for my imaginary live-in kitchen…
I say ‘imaginary’ as — although we do have a large (ish) kitchen — it’s not big enough to have a sofa or a chair in! We’ve a large farmhouse table slap-bang in the middle of our actual kitchen — where we all sit down to eat — and a giant AGA which takes up lots of room. And sadly, because our house is listed, there will never be an opportunity to extend.
My imaginary kitchen is huge — it still has our table and the AGA — but would also have enough room for a big squashy sofa and a couple of chairs for us all to hang out together. And for my boy and I to read the papers on a Sunday (whilst the Twinkles are playing).
OK. Bear with me here — this is ‘imaginary’ remember! ;)
Anyway. Back to my imaginary bubble! Here the pink kitchen accessories I’ve chosen.

I think a little flash of pink, here and there, is a lovely thing — too much though and you run the risk of your home looking like a Barbie palace! There’s lots more lovely pink inspiration on Pinterest. I’ve created a mini-board in Pantone Strawberry Ice which you can pop over to look at here.

Lovely ideas! I have two girls so have the opposite problem – constantly trying to curtail the pink! I think a few pink accessories are lovely though especially vibrant pink and a coral shade. I absolutely love the mug and blanket you’ve chosen!
Thanks so much Sian! Aaah — the girls outnumber the boys in your home!! Sometimes I feel totally outnumbered! Good job two of the cats are female! :) X
I love these Caro, and I too live in a house full of boys and have so little pink in my life, I once nearly bought some shocking pink bath towels and it started a full blown revolution x
I think I need to stick to my guns Sarah!! Stand up for my rights for a little bit of pink! :) x
Could you please come and style my house for me please??!! Amazing picks (yet again!) you are one stylish and chic Momma!! I love this colour, although I think it would be too much to do it full-on. The items you have chosen would make it look stunning though. Great post. Thanks for sharing this on #sundaystars Jess x
Aaaah — you’re so sweet!! What a lovely thing to say!! Yep — I totally agree — too much of this colour would give me a headache!! ;) Thanks so much for hosting! X
That mixing bowl is just the one I’ve been looking for! Where did you find it? x
The jug is Dunelm — there’s a link below the pic, on the blog post, that will take you straight to it xx
My favourite colour is pink and this is just adorable! I’m currently decorating the whole of our new house and now Im wishing I’d chose pink!!
Thanks so much Lianne! I’m not sure I could live with a lot of pink in the home but a few touches, here and there, are lovely! Maybe you can bring a little in with your new colour scheme? Thanks for hosting! x
Oh I call our kids ‘Twinkles’ too. In fact they’re now shortened to ‘The Twinks’ – they’re 8, 6 and 4. Love the idea of an imaginary kitchen! I think everyone needs a bit of pink don’t they? The kids bought me some pink hair spray for Christmas. I love it!
Aaah that’s lovely that you have ‘Twinkles’ too!! :) I think ours will keep this name as long as they live!! HA! Even when they’re 30+ LOL! And I agree — everyone needs a little pink in their lives :) Thanks for your lovely comment!!
