The fourth colour in our Pantone spring forecast series is Classic Blue.
This is a colour staple in terms of fashion but it’s sometimes overlooked in modern interiors because it can feel quite dark. But team it with fresh white walls and pick up another accent colour, to warm things up a little bit — pink, coral, chartreuse, turquoise or purple — and you’ve got yourself a winner!
There are lots of nautical themed accessories in this shade out at the moment — I spied lots in Zara Home where they’d got a great selection of marine print cushions in cobalt blue and white.
This colour-scheme brings to mind East Coast America — it makes me think of The Hamptons, Clapboard houses and beach-side living. It’s chic and very adaptable; add a few pieces to an all white colour scheme and you’ve got a lovely fresh feel. Or forego the current trend for charcoal grey walls and paint your walls in a deep navy shade — add some warm wood furniture, leather and gilt —and you’ve transformed the room into a gentleman’s club or boutique hotel.

There’s a gorgeous pic of a navy hallway, with a crisp white staircase, I’ve particularly got my eye on. My husband better watch out, or else we may be decorating again!
Next week we’ll be looking at:
