Oh hello sunshine! So nice to see you.
This weeks’ predicted heatwave has finally arrived and I’m sitting here feeling a warmth that — unusually — isn’t coming from the central heating; for the first time in months.
I think spring is actually here at last. A little late to the party but fashionably so, suited and booted in all it’s green glory.
Our garden is starting to wake after its long winter slumber; the tulips are almost out and there are green shoots on the cherry tree.
I love this time of year.
The ‘newness’ and zesty greenness, that seems to be everywhere you look, is such an antidote to the greyness of the colder months.
Which is a fantastic coincidence, as the next colour in my Colour Your World series is Pantone Lime Punch.
A vibrant green that is the perfect colour to reflect this time of year; its acid good looks are just what’s needed after such a long winter.
Pantone say;
‘Sharp and pungent, Lime Punch hits a chord with its strident and striking citrus like presence in the Spring 2018 palette.’
I say — punch me with your limey freshness!
It might not be to everyone’s taste — particularly in large quantities — but a little shot of Pantone Lime Punch, paired with fresh white or inky dark navy, is a lovely thing.
Even if it’s in the form of a simple cushion or mug.

We’ve had quite a few greens, so far, in this colour series.
Pantone Lime Punch isn’t a million miles away from last year’s colour of the year — Greenery — although that was much grassier and had a little more blue in the mix.
Whereas Woodbine and Treetop, which I’ve featured already, are right down at the other end of the spectrum; much deeper and darker in tone.
Lime Punch is a fresh, zingy green; with an almost perfect balance of blue and yellow.
The colour of new shoots and fresh beginnings.
The colour of spring.
