There’s a LOT of excitement in our home at the mo, as we’ve been getting ready for our first family ski holiday with Mark Warner!! I thought I’d put together a list of Family Ski-wear essentials.
The little boys are so excited about the snow; much chat about this. I’m not convinced that they quite know what ‘skiing’ involves yet but they’ve watched lots of YouTube clips and Instagram Stories of the other current Mark Warner ambassadors.
My big, man-shaped boy is beyond excited to go on his first proper skiing trip for more than 20 years.
He’s not been ‘proper’ skiing since just before we got together (which will be 21 years on May 28th this year!!!! Eeeek!!! HOW did that happen??!). He’s been to the Snow Dome on the odd occasion but hasn’t travelled any further than Tamworth — or Milton Keynes — to get his ski fix for a very long time.
And I’ve been getting a little bit excited about shopping for some ski-wear essentials for us all.
Having never been skiing before it’s been really fun choosing things that I’d never ordinarily look at.
Plus it’s been nice to scour the internet for things other than clues on ‘How To Stop When Skiing’ (something that I’ve been getting a little bit worked up about) or ‘ The Best Exercises to Prepare for Skiing’.
Pouring over ski-wear and accessories is definitely preferable!
I’ve put three little boards together to show you the kind of Family Ski-wear essentials I’ve been looking at.

Ski-wear essentials for the littles
There are lots of cool ski clothes available for little ones.
I love the fact that a lot of it is unisex too. Granted, if your little princess can’t be swayed away from pink there’s still plenty of that available. But also a vast range of mix and match brights, that will suit both boys and girls.
1/ Snowstorm Ski Jacket 2/ Biggles Cap 3/ Falcon Ski Pants 4/ Bloc Moon Goggles 5/ Slushstomper Snowboots 6/ Kids Merino Base Layers 7/ Kids Lip Balm 8/ Biggles Mittens 9/ Snow Flurry Ski Socks
I love the fab geometric print jackets from Muddy Puddles; as well as keeping the boys dry they’re bright and bold.
Which means they’ll be easy to spot when we’re on the slopes.
Plus the snuggly Merino base layers from Mountain Warehouse are perfect. Although these will be under wraps for most of the time, they are the kind of garment that the boys love. They don’t restrict movement and will keep them lovely and warm.
Ski-wear essentials for daddy
1/ Asgard Merino Zip Top 2/ Dusk Mens Ski Pants 3/ Bolle Goggles 4/ Dare 2B Hill Seeker Jacket 5/ Men Ski Gloves 6/ Tristin Mens Slouchy Beanie 7/ Nivea Lip Care 8/ Sorel 1964 Pac Snow Boot 9/ Oakley Sunglasses
Richard loves the retro styling of the Dare 2B jacket. It’s so eighties — in a good way!
I’ve discovered that you don’t have to be head to toe in one brand — or colour. But you can easily pull a cool ski ensemble together, by picking an accent colour and carrying it through the lenses on a pair of sunglasses or the detailing on a jacket or hat.
Ski-wear essentials for mummy
1/ Peter Storm Oversized Bobble Hat 2/ La Roche Posay Sunscreen 3/ Oakley Goggles 4/ Softshell Ski Pants 5/ Sinner Polarised Glasses 6/ Protest Nocton 15 Ski Jacket 7/ Snow Angel Snow Boots 8/ Barts Ski Gloves 9. Base Layers
Deciding what to take for our first family ski holiday with Mark Warner is a bit of a learning curve; especially for someone like me, who’s never skied before.
My friends who ski regularly have said that good quality sunscreen for the face is a must; plus a good quality pair of ski goggles. I love the ones with rainbow lenses the most; you can wear them with any colour and they will coordinate perfectly. There’s some fabulous pairs on the Chriselli website.
And whilst most of the ski-wear I’ve been looking at is erring on the side of function I love the glamorous styling of the Barts ski gloves, with the faux fur trim.
Packing for our Mark Warner holiday in Sardinia was much, much simpler!! I know where I am with a sunshine holiday — what to pack — the kind of things to cover every eventuality. But preparing to pack for our first ski trip has been really fun.
Now I just can’t wait to get there!

Oh I bet you’re so excited Caro! And the boys too, you’re going to have such an ace time! Love the pink glasses/goggles for you x also, I used to work on Dare 2 Be!
I’m REALLY excited since I had my ski lesson last week!! I actually managed to ski!!! Something I never thought I’d be able to do. I can’t wait now!!
