room it was in, so I decided to paint it white.

I carefully taped off all the areas that I didn't want to paint. Including the keys...

off the hinges and all of
the other metalwork.

The surface was very glossy, so I gave the wood a light sanding. This step is optional with the paint that I used for this project.

Then I began painting! It took two coats to get a lovely solid finish.
